Live music is everywhere this summer. Revel in the selection and variety of Jazz styles this week.
Friday, July 26:
- Ron & the Finklesteiners play Bavarian Country Music at Gerhard’s German Restaurant, 222 W. Hickory St., Denton, 7-9 p.m.
- Mariachi Quetzal performs at La Milpa Mexican Restaurant, 820 S. I-35E, at 8 p.m. – no cover
- Great Music Tonight @ Banter Bistro, 219 W. Oak St., Denton. 6 p.m. – Classical Guitar; 7 p.m. – Bruce April Nicholle Bond; 8 p.m. – Zero Buffalo ; 10 p.m. – The Tissue Issue: A Musical Satire (Mexican Beer day all day $3.00! )

Monday, July 29:
- Jake Dester’s FEATSC Vol. 1: Primordial Salutation debuts at the Greenhouse Restaurant, 600 N. Locust St., Denton, 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. No cover.
“This performance is the first of a concept project I have been concocting since May 2012. It is to serve as a harbinger for the inevitable revelation of the nine-movement, Electronic Dance Music-inspired, interdisciplinary composition I have entitled ‘FEATSC’,” said composer and saxophonist Jake Dester. (FeatSC is is an abbreviated term, spoken and heard as “Feet Sauce” – that is, sauce for your feet i.e. dance music. “FEATSC Mvt. Also, we will be performing new arrangements of three covers: “Thinkin’ Bout You” by Frank Ocean, “Thong Song” by Sisqo, and “Total Eclipse of the Heart“, the power ballad made popular by Bonnie Tyler.

- Brian Clancy & Friends play Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm St., Denton, Free. Back in Denton for a few days before returning to his West Coast music schedule, saxophonist Brian Clancy offers some great jazz with his talented friends.
