- Vintage Jazz Society meets at the Center for Visual Arts (Bell at East Hickory, Denton) at 9:30 a.m. for discussion, followed by a jam session at 10:30 a.m. – Everyone Welcome!
- Late Night Jazz at The Greenhouse Restaurant, 600 N. Locust, Denton, 10 p.m.- Midnight. No Cover
Tuesday, June 5:
- Marshall Smith & BRAZZ – the acoustic, all brass quintet plays resonant, full brass versions of Jazz standard from Brubeck to Parker at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm, Denton, 7 – 9 p.m. – FREE. The group features Marshall Smith on trumpet, Jordan Gheen on trumpet, Catherine Gilstrap playing French horn, Kevin Hickson trombone
and Jason Halstop on bass trombone and tuba (subbing for AG Robeson.)
- First Tuesday at Banter – Mister Joe Jazz Band at Banter Bistro, 219 W Oak, Denton, 8 p.m., followed by Le Not So Hot Klub du Denton at 9 p.m. – FREE

Mister Joe Jazz Band– Captain Dave and Mister Joe sit on the front row along with banjoist, George Merritt. They serve on the front lines of Strictly Dixie, Denton’s foremost
Dixieland Jazz band and front runner to the Not So Hot Klub that followed later that night.
Le Not So Hot Klub du Denton – Thad Bonduris leads the group of masters of the gypsy jazz style of Django Reinhardt. Starting the evening with Andy Cooper’s favorite kickoff tune, Douce Ambiance, the band wows its audience with solos on guitar as well as flute, saxophone, accordion, violin, even upright bass and trap set.
- The James Riggs Quartet – featuring James Riggs, leader and saxophones; Neil Slater, piano; Rich DeRosa, drums; Lou Carfa,
bass, performs at The Shops at Highland Village for the Tuesday Evening Jazz at the Fountain, 7 – 9 p.m. The Shops at Highland Village is at the NW corner of FM 2499 and FM 407, Highland Village, Texas.The series, which runs Tuesday nights through June 26, features award-winning students, faculty and alumni from UNT.
